WHAT IS THE ARCHER?
THE RICHEST RACE IN REGIONAL QUEENSLAND
The Archer Race will be a 1300 metre race run under a set weight for age handicap.
The race will be run at Callaghan Park, Rockhampton for a total prize pool of $440,000. The Central Queensland Amateur Racing Club (Rocky Amateurs) hope to grow this prize pool each year depending on race success and Queensland Racing support going forward.
HOW THE ARCHER CONCEPT WORKS
The Archer Race concept is based closely on the Richest Race on Turf format that is The Everest. 12 Slot holders are allocated slots at a total of $35,000 each. The owner of the slot can then determine if they would like to run their own horse in the allocated slot, or negotiate a deal with another horse owner for their horse to run in the slot. A deal is then brokered between the two parties as to a prize money split.
Nine (9) slot holders have been allocated by the Central Queensland Amateur Race Committee with a further two (2) to be drawn via a ballot and the final spot being auctioned off. The 9 allocated slot holders and the 2 ballot winning slot holders will hold their slot for 3 years and be required to pay the $35,000 entry each year. The auction for the 12th slot will be carried out each year.
If you would like to enquire about the ballot draw and auction please read the Terms and Conditions here and register your interest.
