FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between the Rockhampton Jockey Club and the Rocky Amateurs (CQARC)?

The Rocky Amateurs is a stand-alone race club that holds a license for one race day each year. The Rocky Amateurs have an agreement in place with the RJC to rent Callaghan Park for our race day each year. Our club is not in anyway part of the RJC and hence don’t benefit from any RJC membership subscriptions.

What does my RJC membership entitle me to on a Rocky Amateurs Race Day?

As a separate not-for-profit race club unfortunately RJC memberships are not able to be used for gate entry or members access. The only memberships that are recognised on a Rocky Amateurs Race Day is a Rocky Amateurs Membership which can be purchased via the Membership tab on this website.

How do I get access to the Members Area on a Rocky Amateurs Race Day?

Access to the Members Area on a Rocky Amateurs Race day can be obtained by:

  1. Becoming a Rocky Amateurs Member
  2. Having a ticket to the Chairman’s Luncheon function
  3. Being the owner or trainer of a horse racing at that particular race meeting.
If I am a Rocky Amateurs Member can I reserve a table in the Members Area?

No. Seating in the Member’s Area is based on a first-in best-dressed scenario. Reserved seating is allocated for Chairman’s Lunch attendees.
